Bio
THIS YEAR: Sophomore Nonah Waldron is in her second season as a hurdler on the USC track and field team.
2024:  Waldron reached the NCAA quarterfinals in the 100m hurdles in her freshman season. She ran a PR of 13.15 (+1.7) to take third in the Mt. SAC Elite race on April 20. She took third in the 400m hurdles with a season-best time of 59.49 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28…also placed fourth in the 100m hurdles that day with a time of 13.53 (-1.1). During the summer, Waldron placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.30 (-0.3) at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Peru on Aug. 30. She competed in five indoor meets and posted a 60m hurdles personal best of 8.24 to take second at the Eagle Elite Invitational on Feb. 9.
HIGH SCHOOL: Waldron is a 2023 graduate of Oak Park High in Oak Park, Mich. She was named the 2023 Michigan Girls Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year.  She has personal bests of 13.36 in the 100m hurdles and 40.27 in the 300m hurdles, a Michigan state record…Those times ranked second and fifth nationally among 2023 graduating seniors. She also has a 400m hurdles PR of 58.1, which is also a Michigan high school record. She ran the 40.27 in the 300m hurdles to win the Michigan high school state title in the event, which ranks No. 12 all-time among high school runners. Waldron was the 2022 60m hurdles national champion with a time of 8.35 at the New Balance National Indoors and in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.58 at the 2021 Nike Outdoor Nationals…She placed second in the 100m hurdles at the 2023 Nike Outdoor Nationals. She was a 10-time individual All-American, an 8-time state champion in the 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. She was also named the Michigan High School Female Athlete of the Year and the Detroit Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year. She was class valedictorian, Honor Roll student, AP Scholar, Academic All-State, Academic All-America and winner of the Principal Circle Award.
PERSONAL: Nonah was born on April 11, 2005…Her mother’s name is Nyeeyah Waldron and she has three siblings, Nylah Omar, Troy Jr. and Tristen…Her hobbies include doing makeup, making YT videos and TikTok dances…Lists Dalilah Muhammad as her sports hero, the person who inspired her to run the 400m hurdles…Her goal after USC is to make life easier for female athletes in some way…She is a Business major at USC.
