2009: Spicer was moved from nose tackle to defensive tackle in 2009 spring drills and will start there as a senior in 2009.
2008: Spicer started the first 3 games (Virginia, Ohio State and Oregon State) of 2008 at nose tackle, then served as a backup there the rest of his junior season. Overall in 2008 while appearing in 10 games (all but Oregon, Washington and California), he made 8 tackles, including 1 for a loss of 1 yard. He had 2 tackles each against Ohio State, Oregon State, Arizona and Stanford. He sprained his ankle at Arizona and missed the next 2 games (Washington and California). He missed 2008 spring practice with a bruised knee injury.
2007: Spicer was a backup at nose tackle and defensive tackle as a sophomore in 2007. Overall while appearing in 12 games (all but UCLA), he had 9 tackles, including 2 for losses of 10 yards (with 1 sack for minus 9 yards). He had 1 tackle (a sack) against Idaho, Washington and Stanford, then 3 stops at Notre Dame, 1 tackle at Oregon and California and 1 tackle for a loss against Illinois.
2006: Spicer was a reserve nose tackle as a redshirt freshman in 2006. Overall while appearing briefly in 7 games (Arkansas, Nebraska, Washington State, Arizona State, Oregon State, Stanford, Oregon) in 2006, he made 3 tackles, including 2 for losses of 5 yards (with a 1-yard sack), and deflected a pass. He had 2 tackles at Stanford (with 1 for a loss of 4 yards) and he had the sack against Oregon.
2005: Spicer redshirted as a freshman defensive tackle in 2005, his first year at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Among his 2004 honors were Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, Tom Lemming All-American, Prep Star Top 100 Dream Team, Student Sports Top 100, Rivals 100, USA Today All-USA second team, Scout.com All-American first team, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West first team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 first team and Cal-Hi Sports All-State third team as a senior defensive lineman and running back at Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High. He had 82 tackles, 14 sacks, 5 forced fumbles and 5 deflections in 2004 despite missing 2 games with a cracked rib.
As a junior in 2003, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass first team and All-Valley first team while posting 71 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. In his career as a 4-year starter, he had 280 tackles and 37 sacks.
He also was on Rancho Cucamonga[apos]s track team, with best of 11.2 in the 100 meters, 61-8 in the shot put and 170-0 in the discus throw.
PERSONAL: He[apos]s a sociology major at USC. He grew up in Florida before moving to California when he was in middle school.
