Bio
THIS YEAR: Senior Julia Bounds rejoined the USC track and field team last season. She previously competed for USC in cross country and track and field in 2018 and parts of the 2019 season. Â
2021: Bounds competed in two track and field meets, posting a season-best 1500m time of 5:02.93 at the Aztec Invitational on MarchÂ
2020: Did not compete in track and field or cross country.27.
2019: She did not compete in track, but participated in cross country in the fall season.
2018: Bounds placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a PR of 11:32.50 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet to earn a point and help the Trojans to the team victory. She improved over a half a minute from her first career steeplechase at the Triton Invitational (12:09.83). She had a 1500m PR of 4:52.17 to finish 10th at the Power 5 Challenge. She had a time of 2:27.80 in her only 800m race of the season at the Beach Opener.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bounds is a 2017 graduate of St. Francis College Prep in Mountain View, Calif. where she competed in track and cross country. She had a best 800m time of 2:17, 1600m time of 5:09.74 and 3200m time of 11:00.01. As a freshman, she won the Division 2 cross country races at the Stanford Invitational (18:15.0) and the Clovis Invitational (17:54.0). In cross country, she has a three-mile PR of 18:56.3 and a 5K PR of 17:54.0. She was a member of the National Honors Society and Foreign Language Honors Society.
PERSONAL: Bounds was born on March 23, 1999 in Redwood City, Calif....Her parents are Jay and Norleen Bounds and she has a brother, Jason...She has volunteered at the creative learning center for autistic children and worked with kindergartners at her elementary school...Her hobbies include fostering kittens and playing piano...She also has played volleyball for seven years...Favorite foods are steak and mac-n-cheese...Is majoring in Business Administration.
