He missed most of the 2010 season with a shoulder injury, but did make three appearances...had an 0-1 record with a 12.00 ERA...in three innings, he allowed four earned runs and five hits with four walks and four strikeouts...threw a scoreless inning against Vanderbilt on Feb. 27 with a walk and a strikeout...made his season debut on Feb. 19 at Cal Poly, throwing one-third of an inning.

2009
He missed the entire 2009 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in the summer on his right elbow...played for the Pittsfield Dukes of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, making four appearances with a 2.57 ERA...in seven innings, he allowed five hits and two earned runs with three walks and seven strikeouts...played for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League during the summer, going 1-3 with a 5.57 ERA...in 21 innings, he allowed 24 hits and 13 earned runs with nine walks, 21 strikeouts and a .404 opponents[apos] batting average. 2008
As a freshman, he made 13 appearances and posted a 1-0 record with an 8.22 ERA...in 15 1/3 innings, Hershiser allowed 20 hits and 14 earned runs with eight walks, 10 strikeouts and a .308 opponents[apos] batting average...recorded his first collegiate win on April 8 against No. 16 Cal State Fullerton after throwing 1 1/3 no-hit innings with a walk and two strikeouts in the 5-4 win in 11 innings...threw two scoreless innings on March 24 at Loyola Marymount...made his collegiate debut on March 4 at Pepperdine with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit with a walk and two strikeouts.
High School
He earned all-conference honors in his junior and senior seasons at St. Mark[apos]s School in Dallas, Texas for coach Tom Adams...in his senior season, he batted .387 with five home runs and 30 RBI while going 6-2 on the mound in 50 innings with a 2.24 ERA and 70 strikeouts...member of the baseball squad that won conference titles in his freshman and senior seasons...also earned all-conference honors on the basketball team.
