Rock Hudgens brings an exceptional track record of success to his current role as the director of operations at USC, where he is entering his second season. Before joining USC in 2022, Hudgens played a pivotal role at GCU, collaborating closely with Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz to achieve remarkable outcomes during their successful two-season tenure. In their two year stint together, GCU earned its first two regional appearances in program history, alongside securing a prestigious WAC Championship and two conference titles. Hudgens' contributions throughout his tenure at GCU helped solidify his reputation as a talented and accomplished professional in the sports industry.
Â
A native of Arizona, Hudgens demonstrated his love for the sport at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale. After graduation, he ventured into the professional field by joining the Houston Astros, working in clubhouse operations and serving as the bat boy in 2017. This opportunity proved to be an unforgettable one, as the Astros clinched the World Series title which Hudgens was a part of.
Â
Fueled by his own passion for playing baseball, Rock attended Alvin Community College before joining ACU to further his athletic pursuits. During his time at ACU, Hudgens graduated Summa Cum Laude in just three years with not one, but three degrees in business management, computer science, and biblical studies. Moreover, he became the first-ever athlete in the history of ACU to graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Â
Hudgens crossed paths with coach Stankiewicz at an infield clinic hosted by ACU in 2020. This encounter led to an exciting new chapter in Rock's career: working under the guidance of coach Stankiewicz starting in the fall of 2020. Throughout this period, Hudgens demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his craft by completing his Master of Business Administration at GCU before the age of 21.
Â
Currently, as the director of operations at USC, Hudgens takes charge of the team's day-to-day operations. His responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including overseeing travel arrangements, booking flights and hotels, coordinating catering services, assisting in alumni relations, managing equipment, creating and managing schedules, handling ticketing matters, and acting as a vital liaison between coach Stankiewicz, the players, and their parents.
