David Tillotson

David Tillotson begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the USC baseball program heading into the 2022 season. Tillotson will be in charge of working with the catchers and assisting with the offense. Tillotson will also help run the USC baseball camps and assist with on-campus recruiting.

Tillotson joins the Trojans after spending this past summer as an assistant coach with the Corvallis Knights in the West Coast League. Tillotson coached the catchers and helped run the offense during the Knights 2021 summer campaign. He helped Corvallis to a 50-14 record, culminating in a West Coast League title. The Knights were also voted the Perfect Game Summer Collegiate Team of the Year.

Tillotson spent the past two years as the Director of Analytics at UC Santa Barbara. During those two years, he helped the Gauchos to a cumulative 54-22 record along with an appearance in the 2021 Arizona Regional. Additionally, Tillotson assisted the UCSB coaching staff with player development, utilizing a variety of analytical tools including TrackMan, K-Vest, Blast Motion and Rapsodo.

Prior to coming to Santa Barbara, Tillotson served as both a high school teacher and baseball coach for three years at Cleveland Central High School in Cleveland, MS. There he helped the Wolves to two league titles and three consecutive state playoff berths.

Tillotson played his college ball at Centralia College in Centraila, WA from 2011-2014, before transferring to the University of Washington where he earned his B.S. in General Biology. While at UW, he also served as an undergraduate manager and video coordinator for the Huskies. In his final season with the team, the Huskies made it to the 2016 Vanderbilt Regional.

Tillotson was born in Oak Harbor, WA to his parents Ardith and Bart Tillotson.
