Scholarship Endowments
Athletic scholarships make up a significant portion of the USC Athletics operating budget. Annually, Athletics pays over $18 million to cover this expense. Growing the Endowment is essential to the long-term sustainability of our programs and will allow USC Athletics the freedom to use annual funds to enhance the student-athlete experience. Further, an endowed scholarship lasts forever and will fund in perpetuity many incredible student-athletes for generations to come.
The goal of USC Athletics is to develop student-athletes who will perform successfully in the classroom and compete at a championship level in every sport. This is demonstrated by our 130 national team titles and an all-time high of 985 in the multiyear NCAA Academic Progress Rating for all 21 teams in 2020. An essential part of that success involves our financial commitment to each individual team. Adequate funding helps us hire the best staff, offer athletic scholarships, provide the best facilities possible and support the team in meeting their day-to-day operational needs.
