This Saturday, USC opens its 2016 season against No. 1 Alabama in an exciting matchup at AT&T Stadium. While the Trojans are surely looking forward to their tilt against the Tide, they've also looked to the past for inspiration --- specifically from the USC-Alabama game played on Sept. 12, 1970.
In that game, the Trojans routed the Crimson Tide, 42-21, thanks in part to Sam Cunningham's 135 rush yards and 2 TD. Cunningham's success and USC's win that day helped spark the integration of African-Americans into college football in the South.
Ahead of this year's game, USC RB Justin Davis met up with Cunningham to discuss the impact of that game and what it means to be part of the Trojan Family.
