USC men's tennis signed a talented pair of incoming freshman last week, but Brandon Holt and Riley Smith are anything but new to the Trojan Family. The son of head coach Peter Smith and younger brother to current USC men's tennis player Tanner Smith, Riley (below right) is the next member of the Smith clan to pick up a Cardinal and Gold racquet. Holt (below left) is the younger brother of current team manager Dylan Holt and comes from a very successful tennis family led by mom Tracy Holt, a two-time US Open champion.

The duo already has experience as doubles partners, winning the Laguna Niguel 10K Futures championship and being named Southern California Sectional champions. They've also finished third at the National Championships and second at the US Open Junior Championships. Holt, who attends Palos Verdes High School, currently ranks No. 5 in the country for seniors while Smith, a Los Alamitos High School senior, is ranked No. 15.
"These are two guys who have dreamed of being Trojans, and I can't wait to coach them and have them as part of the team," Peter Smith said of Holt and Smith. "They have bright futures at USC."
