Without debate, Saturday's 14-9 victory over Arizona State didn't feel as good as a blowout, shutout win, but the operative word in that comment -- "win" -- is all that counts for the Trojans.
And they're going to progress forward accordingly. Even though there are several areas that need improvement in offense, defense and special teams, the Trojans will be relishing the victory as well as looking to build upon it while heading toward Saturday's game against Stanford.
"We just won a football game and we're going to ride that," Coach Carroll said. "It was a good illustration for us that we can return to winning ways and play good, solid, hard-nosed football."
