Encouraging signs for women's hoops

The USC women's basketball team kicked off the 2009-10 season with a hard-fought overtime loss to No. 11 Xavier this afternoon at the Galen Center, coming back from an eight-point halftime deficit before falling 81-71 in the extra period.
