Thoughts from Thursday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...
- On a cool afternoon, the Trojans conducted a brief half-pads workout to close out their week of practice and send them into the final stage of game preparation. "It's championship football time," Coach Carroll said in the post-practice team huddle. "We love going on the road -- we've been road warriors all year long. Let's crank it up again."
- Wideout Damian Williams (bruised glute) and fullback Stanley Havili (shoulder) will make the trip to Oregon, while tight end Anthony McCoy (ankle) will not, Carroll announced after practice.
- During team period, linebacker Shane Horton snagged an interception off a pass deflection by safety T.J. McDonald.
- Football, apparently, is all about the details. On one play during 11-on-11 drills, offensive coordinator John Morton told wideout Ronald Johnson to scoot one foot farther outside than he had originally lined up. Johnson went on to be wide open and score a touchdown on the play.
- As is the norm for Thursday practices, the special teams units got extended reps.
- The Trojan Marching Band practiced on an adjacent field, providing the perfect soundtrack for USC's Thursday workout.
