- A police escort guided them from the downtown hotel to the Coliseum.
- The stadium thermometer read 70 degrees (even though it was well over 90).
- Players threw chairs, yelled and jumped around in the locker room prior to the game.
- The Trojans chanted "War time!" as they marched down the tunnel before kickoff.
- The Trojan Marching Band, USC Song Girls and Traveler were all in attendance.
- Crowd noise was louder than ever (though it was piped in over speakers).
