Saturday was the first practice of the fall, and it was loaded with several big-time plays from players all across the field.
It also included a surprising change of routine for Coach Carroll, who wore a hat on the practice field for one of the only times ever.
Carroll said it was to protect him from the late-afternoon sun, and he added that it "wasn't working" for him, so you might see something else from him come Sunday's practice.
But in the meantime, what are your thoughts on Carroll's cap? Should he stay with the fashion adjustment or ditch it for the simple gray hair everyone's come to expect from USC's 57-year-old coach?
