Pat Ruel knows how to get a college kid's attention.
Bringing laughter to all within earshot, the 58-year-old offensive line coach utilized a funny pop culture reference right in the heat of instructing his players during this morning's walk-thru.
Directly after safety Taylor Mays came up to the line of scrimmage and got into the backfield untouched because of a busted assignment, Ruel gave a lecture for his linemen who were in charge of protecting the particular gap in the line that Mays snuck through.
"I don't care who walks up there -- Beyoncé could walk up there! -- but you have to take the C gap!" Ruel shouted, eliciting chuckles from the coaches and the players, who were incredulous that Ruel knew who Beyoncé was.
