Name: Chuma Edoga
Position: OT
Class: Freshman
Size: 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds
Age: 18
High School: McEachern HS (Powder Springs, GA)
Game: Long and strong, Edoga is the prototypical offensive tackle. According to his coaches, he has a mean streak to go with plus athleticism. The freshman has a good head on his shoulders too as he plans to pursue his passion for aerospace engineering.
Prep Career: The offensive tackle began his football career at the southern powerhouse, McEachern High School, outside of Atlanta where he was named to the Prep Star All-American Dream Team after his senior season and the All-State Class AAAAAA first team his junior and senior year. Edoga dominated the offensive line for the McEachern Indians and was one of the most highly-touted offensive tackles in the nation coming out of high school.
Fall Camp: Edoga is battling for playing time on the offensive line, running with the ones and twos throughout August. The early entrant spent the spring learning the playbook and bulking up in the weight room so that by the start of Fall Camp, he could put pressure on veteran RT Zach Banner to compete for a playing time.Â
Coach Sark on Edoga: "When you look at Chuma, he's a little unassuming. He's obviously very athletic. He's got long arms. What I like about him after watching him is he's a physical, nasty guy. It's not just the nice guy, big, offensive lineman, but he's nasty. He likes to finish guys, so we're going to see Chuma play on Saturday."
