On Sunday, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games held its closing ceremonies at the Coliseum after a week of competition and inspiration in Los Angeles. USC hosted the Games' aquatics, track & field and basketball events as well as both the opening and closing ceremonies. Over 6,500 athletes participated in the largest sports and humanitarian event of the year, and Special Olympics estimates that 500,000 people came out to watch the Games throughout the week.
