USC women's track & field advanced to six event finals on its first day at the NCAA Championships in Eugene led by the 4x400m relay team of Jaide Stepter, Amalie Iuel, Kendall Ellis and Vanessa Jones. The speedy quartet posted the best time of the day, and Stepter and Iuel also qualified for the 400m IH finals.

In the shorter sprints, USC was carried by its freshmen class. NCAA debutants Dior Hall (100m HH) and Ky Westbrook (100m) made strong introductions on the national stage. Westbrook also joined with freshman Deanna Hill, junior Alexis Faulknor and sophomore Destinee Brown on the 4x100m relay team, advancing out of the semifinals with the sixth fastest time.
No Trojans participated in Thursday's field events as the women's discus featuring Tera Novy and Alexandra Collatz is scheduled for Saturday along with the women's sprinting finals. The men are back on the track today with all eyes on Andre De Grasse as he carries the torch for USC in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m finals.
