According to college football insider Phil Steele, USC will play the second toughest schedule in college football this upcoming season. The ranking should come as no surprise considering the Trojans will face Washington and travel to Oregon this fall, while not playing Washington State and Oregon State. It's also no surprise that the Pac-12 has five of the teams in the Top 10, evidence of the fact that the competition within the conference is unrivaled on a weekly basis.
In the 2016 season, the top two teams from Steele's list will clash at AT&T Stadium as the Trojans and Crimson Tide face each other as part of the Cowboys Classic on September 3. The Trojans' schedule will continue to be amongst the toughest, as future games against Texas (2017 in LA and 2018 in Austin) and the long-standing Notre Dame rivalry are already planned.
