USC sophomore punter Kris Albarado was named the Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week after pinning Utah State inside its own 20-yard line five times last Saturday. In a defensive game, Albarado played a key role for the Trojans by controlling field position, which forced the Aggies to be conservative and consistently put USC's offense in a short field.

Albarado is the first Trojan to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week status this season. He is in his first year as a starter.
