The two titans have met three times this season with USC throwing the first haymaker in a 13-10 win at the UCI Invitational final in February. Stanford countered by grinding out a 6-4 slobberknocker two weeks ago.
The Women of Troy have the upper hand now though and the hardware to show for it after beating the Cardinal 11-7 to win the MPSF Tournament Sunday for the first time since 2009. The Trojans claimed their third MPSF title, and now await seeding in the NCAA Tournament, which begins May 10.
Hannah Buckling paced the Trojans with four goals, while Monica Vavic added a hat trick. Goalie Flora Bolonyai was the difference making nine saves which was five more than her Stanford counterpart.
