The USC football offices came alive today, as all of the assistant coaches returned after a month on the road recruiting.
The coaches spent most of the day catching up--and catching each other up--after their long road trips.
One visitor to the Heritage Hall offices today: former USC offensive line coach Mike Barry, who came to work with his son, current Trojans linebackers coach Joe Barry. Mike had an office in Heritage from 1993 to 1997 while working for John Robinson. Mike's first year as a USC assistant was Joe's senior season as a starting inside linebacker at Troy, then his next two seasons saw Joe join the USC staff as a video coordinator and graduate assistant coach.
Mike is now retired and living in Chicago after a long coaching career that included stops at Southern Illinois, Arizona, Iowa State, Colorado, North Carolina State, Tennessee and the Detroit Lions (where he coached alongside Joe and under Joe's father-in-law, Rod Marinelli).
