Bio
Katie Johnson is in her second season (2016) as the athletic trainer for the USC women's volleyball program. She holds a masters of education in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State (2015) and is a certified athletic trainer.
Johnson previously served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Arizona State (2013-15) where her primary responsibilities were with the Sun Devil women's indoor volleyball and beach volleyball teams.
Johnson was a physical therapy aide with the Silicon Valley Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (2012-13) and was an athletic trainer with Performance Physical Therapy in Los Gatos, Calif., in 2013.
Johnson received a bachelor of science in athletic training from Long Beach State in 2012. While in Long Beach, Calif., she served as an athletic trainer for the Long Beach Bombers, and the LBSU Club ice hockey teams. She was also an athletic training student while at Long Beach State and at Cerritos Community College.
Johnson is certified in CPR and AED, and is a First Aid Certified Professional Rescuer through the American Heart Association. She has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA) since 2012 and was a the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Athletic Training Award from the LBSU Department of Kinesiology in 2012.
Johnson was a competitive jump roper (1999-2013) for 14 years and is a four-time member of the USA Jump Rope National Team and a two-time USA Jump Rope All-Star selection. She has won national championships in jump rope and has competed at the international level.
