In his 4-year (2018-21) career as an offensive tackle at Virginia, he started 20 of the 45 games he appeared in his career. He started 7 games (and appeared in 10 games) at left tackle as a 2021 senior at Virginia, winning ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors (10/18) for his performance against Duke. He appeared in 8 games as a 2020 junior as a backup at the tackle positions and on special teams (he was slowed early in the season while recovering from an off-season injury). He started 13 times (and appeared in 14 games) at left tackle as a 2019 sophomore. He appeared in 13 games as a backup tackle and on special teams as a 2018 freshman. He enrolled at Virginia in the spring of 2018 after graduating a semester early from high school. He made the New Jersey Mid-Atlantic Prep League All-Star team and All-League first team as a 2017 senior offensive tackle and defensive end at the Hun School in Princeton (N.J.). He spent his first 3 years of high school at Fairfield (Ct.) Prep, where he also played tight end. He also played basketball at Fairfield Prep, helping the team to the 2015 state championship. His father, Bob, was a defensive end at Columbia (1978-80).
