Box Score Highlights Press Conference

COLLEGE STATION, Texas –The USC baseball team blasted its way to Sunday play at the College Station Regional on Saturday afternoon, taking down Lamar 19-6 in an elimination game.

The Trojans will play the loser of tonight's game between Texas A&M and Texas State on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT/3 p.m. CT, with the winner of that game advancing to the Regional final.

USC wasted no time getting started on Saturday, getting a two-run homer from Adrian Lopez and a three-run shot from Andrew Lamb to take a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning. Adrian Lopez would double in a run in the second and score on an Augie Lopez single to put the Trojans up 7-0.

Walter Urbon blew the game open with a grand slam in the fourth inning as part of a five-run frame. USC tacked on four in the fifth thanks to a trio of doubles to make it 16-0.

Mason Edwards cruised up until a bit of trouble in the fifth when he was chased with one out in the inning. Lamar would put up five runs in the frame before Chase Herrell got USC out of it.

The Trojan offense kept its foot on the gas, though, responding with two runs on a Kevin Takeuchi double and Isaac Cadena single in the sixth. Adrian Lopez's sacrifice fly in the seventh was the 19^th run of the game for USC, marking the most runs a Trojan team has scored in a postseason game since 1998. The 19 runs were also a season high for USC.

Urbon finished the game with five hits and five RBI, while Adrian Lopez and Lamb each had four-RBI days.
