Round 2 Results

The Trojans fell back into 29th place after a challenging second round.

CARLSBAD, Calif. — The USC Men's Golf Team wrapped up its second round of play at the NCAA Championships, held at The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. on Saturday, May 30.

The Trojans found trouble throughout the afternoon as they battled stronger winds than they encountered in the first round. USC fired a 300 (+12) on Saturday, giving them a 597 (+21) total, sliding USC down into 29th place out of 30 teams. After tomorrow's round, the top 15 teams and nine players from non-advancing teams will make the cut for Monday's fourth and final round of stroke play.

Sophomore Jack Buchanan fired a 73 (+1) for USC's best round of the day. He sits in a tie for 65th with a 146 (+2) total. He began his round with back-to-back birdies, but found trouble with three bogeys to just one birdie on the rest of the front side. He had two birdies and three bogeys on the back side to wrap up the round.

Fellow sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya is in a tie for 88th with a 148 (+4) total after firing a 76 (+4) in the second round. Dumdumaya found trouble on the front side with a triple-bogey on No. 14 and a double-bogey on No. 18, but went bogey-free on the back side with his lone birdie of the round on No. 5.

Senior Antonio Safa fired a 75 (+3) to move into a tie for 102nd with a 149 (+5) total. Freshman Raghav Gulati improved in his second round, firing a 76 (+4) to score for the Trojans. He is tied for 141st.

Rounding out the Trojans, junior Nicolas Dominguez is in 155th with a 161 (+17) total.
