April 30, 2026 | Track & Field
The team will honor 18 Trojans for senior day
LOS ANGELES – The USC track and field team will host crosstown rival UCLA in the annual USC-UCLA Dual Meet this weekend. The two-day competition returns to home turf, with throws events beginning Saturday in Wilmington before a full slate of action Sunday at Allyson Felix Field at Katherine B. Loker Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, USC delivered a standout performance, breaking two school records and totaling four event wins with 13 top-three finishes to close the weekend. The Women of Troy opened the day with a historic performance in the 4x100-meter relay, as Christine Mallard, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Madison Whyte, and Brianna Selby clocked 42.12, tying for the No. 3 time in NCAA history and setting a new USC record.
Whyte returned to break another school record in the 400 meters, running 49.64 to move into the top 10 all-time in NCAA history. On the men's side, Garrett Kaalund made an immediate impact in his outdoor debut, winning the 200 meters in a NCAA-leading 20.10. He also posted one of the top 100-meter times in the NCAA this season, alongside teammate Edward Nketia, as the duo recorded top-three national marks in the event.
HISTORY
The women are 18–23 all-time against the Bruins, while the men hold a 47–44 all-time advantage in the historic rivalry. The Trojans look to bring home wins on both sides after UCLA swept last year's meet where the men's team came up one point short at 82-81 and the women's team saw its 10-year run as champions fall with a 92-71 setback.
SCHEDULE
Competition begins Saturday, May 2, with field events at the Colich Throws Center in Wilmington, Calif. Hammer throw begins at noon with discus following at 1 p.m.
Action shifts Sunday, May 3, to Allyson Felix Field for a full day of events. Field events begin at 11 a.m. with pole vault, javelin, long jump, high jump, shot put, and triple jump throughout the day. Running events begin at 11:10 a.m. including steeplechase, relays, hurdles, sprints, middle-distance, and distance races and culminating with the 4x400-meter relays.
