No. 5 USC Beach Volleyball Moves On To Semifinals Of MPSF Championship

The Women of Troy will face Texas in the semifinals on Friday, April 24.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – No. 5 USC Beach Volleyball (28-10) went 1-1as the fourth seed on the second day of the MPSF Championships. The Women of Troy started the day by falling to the No. 1 seed Stanford and followed that up by taking down the sixth seed in Grand Canyon. With the win over the Lopes, USC will move on to the semifinals against Texas.
MATCH #37: No. 2 Stanford def. No. 5 USC, 3-2
RECORDS: USC (27-10), Stanford (36-3)
At the No. 2 spot, Ashley Pater and Kennedy Coakley put a point on the board for the Trojans, winning in straight sets over Brooke Rockwell and Ruby Sorra with scores of 21-18, 21-15.
In the top flight, Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood added another point by defeating Kelly Belardi and Avery Jackson in straight sets, 21-16, 21-19. This win gave USC the 2-0 advantage over Stanford.
From there, the 4s saw Kyra Zaengle and Calinda Kok fall to Indigo Clarke and Clara Stowell, who secured a win for Stanford with a 21-17, 21-14 scoreline. Meanwhile, the No. 3 flight concluded with Stanford's Charlotta Bell and Logan Tusher defeating Bella Satterwhite and Kerry Keefe, 21-16, 21-14.
The dual and a spot in the semifinals was on the line in the fifth flight between Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow of the Trojans and Elena Fisher and Chloe Hoffman. The Cardinal ended up winning the match with a 21-15, 21-19 win, sealing the win 3-2 win for Stanford.

Following in the No. 3 spot, Macy Bolyard and Bella Satterwhite faced off against Grand Canyon's Rhea Kohl and Mae Manthe. The USC pair fell in straight sets, 16-21, 13-21, as Grand Canyon answered with a point of their own, leveling the dual.
In the 5s, Madison Goellner and Kaileigh Truslow contributed a point for USC, defeating Jordyn Decker and Youna Coens in straight sets, 21-16, 21-13. This gave the Trojans the 2-1 advantage over the Lopes.
At the top flight, Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood clinched the dual for the Women of Troy with their straight-sets win over Karynn Garrow and Becca Drake, 21-16, 21-16, which gave USC the 3-1 win and a spot in the semifinals.
