Djuric earns his third career conference honors following a 4-0 weekend.
ROSEMONT, Ill. — USC men's tennis freshman Branko Djuric has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, marking his second time earning the honor this season.
Djuric's latest recognition comes just one week after he was named Big Ten Player of the Week, continuing a standout debut campaign for the Trojan newcomer.
The freshman from Budva, Montenegro, played a pivotal role in USC's regular-season finale, going a perfect 4-0 across singles and doubles to help lift the Trojans to road wins over Washington (4-0) and Oregon (4-1).
Against Washington, Djuric paired with Connor Church to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two. He followed that with a dominant singles performance, securing the match-clinching point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Stephane Kamandje on center court.
Djuric carried that momentum into Sunday's matchup at Oregon, pairing with Max Exsted for another 6-4 doubles win on court two. In singles, he once again delivered under pressure, clinching the match from the top spot with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Vlad Breeze.
Currently riding a three-match winning streak on center court in singles play, Djuric has emerged as a reliable force in USC's lineup down the stretch.
With his second Freshman of the Week honor and last week's Player of the Week nod, Djuric continues to establish himself as one of the conference's top newcomers as the Trojans head into postseason play.
