March 24, 2026 | Men's Golf
The sophomore tied for seventh with a collegiate-best 201 (-12).
PALM CITY, Fla. — Wrapping up the most competitive regular-season tournament in men's collegiate golf, No. 24 USC Men's Golf sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya tied for seventh to lead the Trojans to a 13th place finish out of 16 teams at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. on Tuesday, March 24.
The final round at the par-71, 7,088-yard course had plenty of movement between the teams. USC rose into a tie for fifth with No. 14 Oklahoma on the front side before finishing in 13th place with an 838 (-14). In the final round, No. 10 Texas Tech passed runner-up No. 1 Auburn to win the team title with an 807 (-45), while No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Arkansas and Florida State rounded out the top five. Individually, Florida State's Tyler Weaver beat Oklahoma's Ryder Cowan in a playoff to take home medalist honors with a 198 (-15).
Individually, Dumdumaya tied for seventh after a close finish for the individual title. Starting the day tied for first, the sophomore had three birdies on the front side to take a three-stroke lead at the turn. However, he ran into trouble on the back side with three bogeys and fended off several challengers before finishing with a career-best 201 (-12).
Fellow sophomore Jack Buchanan tied for 34th with a 210 (-3) after firing a 72 in the final round. Despite having his second eagle of the season on the par-4 No. 11 on his second hole of the day, a bogey and two double-bogeys on the front side pushed his score above par at the turn. He had two of his four birdies on the back side before running into more trouble late in the round with two bogeys.
Graduate senior Luke Stock was USC's biggest mover of the day, improving nine places to finish with a 213 (E). After finishing with one birdie and one bogey on the front side, Stock finished strong on the back side with four birdies — including three on his last five holes — to fire his best round of the tournament with a 68 (-3). He finished in a tie for 51st.
Senior Antonio Safa fired a 70 (-1) to finish in a tie for 55th. He had two bogeys and a birdie on the front side before wrapping up the tournament with four birdies and two bogeys on the back side to finish with a 214 (+1).
Rounding out the Trojans, freshman Raghav Gulati finished in 82nd place with a 227 (+14).
