March 02, 2026 | Baseball
LOS ANGELES -- After leading the No. 20 USC baseball team to an 11th-inning win on the road at Cal Poly, Trojan southpaw Mason Edwards was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week.
Edwards is the second USC pitcher in three weeks to earn the awards after Grant Govel took the honor on opening weekend.
Edwards tossed 7.0 hitless and scoreless innings on Friday night in San Luis Obispo as USC took a no-hitter into the 11th inning and ended up winning 6-0 as part of a four-game sweep. The junior starter matched his career high for the second straight week with 11 strikeouts. In three starts this season, Edwards has allowed just one hit and no runs while striking out 31 batters.
The Trojans are one of just three unbeaten teams remaining in the country after moving to 11-0 with four wins on the road last week. USC will host UC Irvine on Tuesday at Dedeaux Field.
