Trojans to face UNLV, UC Irvine on Sunday.
LOS ANGELES — No. 21 USC men's tennis returns home this weekend to host a Sunday doubleheader at Marks Tennis Stadium, welcoming UNLV and UC Irvine on Feb. 8. The Trojans will open the day against UNLV at 10 a.m. PT before closing the afternoon versus UC Irvine at 2 p.m. PT.
Troy enters the weekend with a 4-3 overall record and is ranked No. 21 nationally after facing a challenging slate of ranked opponents on the road. The Trojans recently split a pair of Bay Area matches, edging then-No. 23 California in a 4–3 thriller before falling to No. 3 Stanford, gaining valuable experience as the season continues to take shape.
The morning match features a matchup against a strong UNLV squad from the Mountain West. The Rebels bring a 4-1 record into Sunday's contest and are led by No. 44-ranked Ilia Snitari in singles. UNLV is unranked overall as a squad and does not have any ranked pairs.
USC will then face UC Irvine in the afternoon finale. The Anteaters enter the weekend at 0-2 overall and are scheduled to take on San Diego on Friday prior to their trip to Los Angeles. UC Irvine is unranked in singles and doubles, but the Big West opponent provides another opportunity for the Trojans to build depth and rhythm across the lineup.
The Trojans will be without their center court singles player Branko Djuric, who is in Chile competing at the Davis Cup for Serbia.
