USC Swimming’s Ashley McMillan Takes Third In 200Y Breaststroke On Third Day Of Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The USC women's swimming and diving team had a strong showing on the penultimate day of the Big Ten Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. 11 Trojans earned second swims across the five events including five A-finalists.
A pair of top five finishes in the 200y breaststroke from the duo of Ashley McMillan and Bella Brito once again highlighted the evening for the Women of Troy. McMillan posted an NCAA qualifying time of 2:08.11 to claim the third spot on the podium while Brito finished fifth with a time of 2:09.40.
The 200y breaststroke featured five Trojans across the three finals including McMillan and Brito. Camden Doane and Daniela Karnaugh placed fourth and sixth respectively in the C final. Ella Flowers touched the wall at 2:14.24 for an eighth place finish in the B final.
Kate Miller made the diving consolation final for the second night in a row, this time on the 3-meter springboard to begin the evening. The sophomore racked up a score of 285.60 to take third.
Lindsay Barnes competed in the first swim event of the night in the 100y backstroke in the C final. Barnes claimed second with a time of 52.97 to get things rolling.
After a strong showing in the 200y breaststroke, Justina Kozan, Claire Tuggle and Alisee Pisane competed in the finals of the 500y freestyle. Pisane took third in the C final with a season best time of 4:46.12. Kozan and Tuggle finished fifth and eighth in the A final with NCAA qualifying times of 4:39.58 and 4:43.05.
Nicole Maier placed sixth in the A final of the 50y freestyle with an NCAA qualifying time of 21.93 to wrap up the individual events.
The 400y medley relay team of McMillan, Brito, Kozan and Miaer finished with a time of 3:35.15 to take sixth in the event to conclude the third day of the Big Ten Championships.
USC remains in fifth with 516.6 points before heading into the final day of the conference championship.
