May 31, 2025 | Women's Golf
LOS ANGELES – USC women's golf signed a defending National Champion, as incoming sophomore Elise Lee (Irvine, Calif./Northwestern) joins the Trojans; head coach Justin Silverstein announced Saturday, May 31.
Lee – an All-Big Ten second-team honoree – comes to USC after helping lead the Wildcats to their first National Championship in school history.
"Adding Elise to an already talent-packed roster is something we are very excited about," Silverstein said. "Elise exhibits all the qualities that we look for in our student-athletes. She is an incredibly hard worker, extremely tough, and a very dependable golfer."
During her freshman year, she recorded a scoring average of 73.38 and posted five top-25 finishes – including a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Norman Regional – for Northwestern. She played a focal point in the Wildcats historic run, as she went 2-1 in match play at the NCAA Championships with wins against Arkansas and Oregon.
In the amateur circuit, Lee produced the best finish in Northwestern's history at the Augusta National Women's Amateur, as she finished tied for 14th after a three-under-par tournament. The incoming sophomore is currently the No. 80th player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, as she has produced seven top-10 finishes in 24 counting events.
"Elise is bringing a ton of high-end golf experience with her at both the collegiate level and top end amateur golf level," Silverstein said. "We cannot wait for her to get on campus and into our player development system as we think the sky is the limit to how good she can get."
Lee will join a talented cast headlined by former high school teammate, junior Catherine Park; both players attended Crean Luthern High School in Irvine, Calif. She will be part of a three-player ensemble of sophomores as she will be in the same class as freshmen Jasmine Koo and Kylie Chong.
