USC Women’s Golf Posts Second-Place Finish at Chevron Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif.- No. 7 USC women's golf returns to the podium as the women of Troy earned a second-place placement at the Chevron Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif. at the Silverado Country Club and Resort on Wednesday, Apr. 9.
The team finished two-under-par (290-286-286 = 862) across three rounds. Northwestern won the tournament at three-under par (861).
Junior Catherine Park tied for second in Napa, earning her fourth second-place finish of the season. This has put her in the top-10 for the seventh time this season and the top-five for the fifth time. Park was five-under par for the tournament, the second round being her best with five birdies and a 68 (-4). Altogether, the junior posted 10 birdies and five bogeys.
Freshman Kylie Chong earned her first top-10 finish season, tying for fourth place. Chong was one-over-par at the end of the first round, but was quick to turn things around and post a 71 (-1) in the second round and a 68 (-4) in the third to finish four-under-par overall. She posted 11 birdies and five bogeys for the day.
Freshman Jasmine Koo was the third Trojan to make the top-10 as she finished in sixth. This is her seventh top-10 finish of the season. Koo was three-under-par in Napa with 11 birdies and eight bogeys.
Sophomore Bailey Shoemaker tied for 47th after finishing 10-over-par. She had 10 birdies and 11 bogeys across three rounds. Senior Xin (Cindy) Kou tied for 79th after finishing twenty-over-par overall. She had one birdie through three rounds as well as 11 bogeys.
USC Women's Golf will compete in the Big Ten Conference Championships in Havre De Grace, Md beginning Friday, Apr. 18 and ending Sunday Apr. 20 at the Bulle Rock Country Club.
