April 29, 2025 | Women's Golf
LOS ANGELES – USC women's golf's junior Catherine Park (Irvine, Calif./Crean Luthern) and freshman Jasmine Koo (Cerritos/Cerritos HS) were selected to Team USA for the upcoming Arnold Palmer Cup in Ridgeland, S.C., the Golf Channel announced Tuesday, Apr. 29.
This year's Palmer Cup — which features Ryder Cup-style competition with the top 12 men's and women's collegiate golfers from the United States competing against their international counterparts, is set for June 5-7 at the Congaree G.C. in Ridgeland, S.C.
Park is on the squad for the second time, having debuted on the American team in 2024. In her debut, she helped lead Team USA to a 32.5-27.5 victory and contributed 1.5 points for the squad. Joining the junior is Koo, who will debut for the squad in 2025.
This season, Park was named All-Big Ten first team after being second on the team in wins (one), stroke average (71.04), and rounds under par (13) while being first in top 10 finishes (seven) and rounds at par or better (19). The junior recorded four second-place finishes this season, as her lone victory came in the first tournament of the year (Leadership and Golf Invitational). Park led the Trojans in the Big Ten Tournament as she was an All-Tournament team member after tying for fifth at two-under par. She is currently ranked as the No. 20 player in the Clippd Scoreboard rankings.
Koo was named the unanimous Big Ten Freshman of the Year and was All-Big Ten first team after leading USC in wins (four), stroke average (70.68), rounds under par (16) and birdies (123). The freshman's four wins this season are tied for the most in program history; she also tied the record for most wins in succession as she won three straight (Windy City Collegiate Classic; Stanford Intercollegiate; East Lake Cup). Koo also led the Trojans for rounds in the 60s (11), as she is tied for the most in program history in a single season with Amari Avery (2023) and Kyung Kim (2014). Koo is currently ranked as the No. 7 player in the Clippd Scoreboard rankings, as she peaked at No. 1 twice this season. The freshman was also named to the ANNIKA Postseason Watch List ahead of the Big Ten Tournament.
USC alumna Amari Avery has appeared twice on the U.S. side in 2023 and 2022. Allisen Corpuz played in the 2021 edition and in 2020, along with fellow Trojans Alyaa Abdulghany and Gabriela Ruffels, who were members of the international side. LPGA rookie Malia Nam joined Jennifer Chang on the U.S. team in 2019.
