USC Women’s Golf Named No. 2 Seed in Lexington Regional
April 23, 2025 | Women's Golf
The Trojans have advanced to the NCAA Championship final site from the regional every year since 1998
LOS ANGELES - No. 9 USC women's golf, after finishing ninth at the Big Ten Conference Tournament, continues the postseason with its selection as the No. 2 seed in the Lexington Regional (May 5-7) at the Keene Trace G.C. – Champions Course in Lexington, Ky.
After making it to the NCAA Semifinals in 2024, the Women of Troy hope to make another run toward the final prize at the NCAA Championships final, which is set for the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. and hosted by the University of Texas, May 16-21.
The Trojans have advanced to the NCAA Championship final site every year since 1998.
Joining the Trojans in Lexington (by seeding): No. 1 Florida State (ACC), No. 3 TCU (Big XII), No. 4 Vanderbilt (SEC), No. 5 Kansas State (Big XII), No. 6 Georgia Southern (Sun Belt), No. 7 Pepperdine (WCC), No. 8 Louisville (ACC), No. 9 Miami (ACC), No. 10 Western Kentucky (C-USA), No. 11 Morehead State (OVC), and No. 12 Fairleigh Dickinson (NEC).
Last season, USC won its NCAA record 15th Regional title. Bailey Shoemaker was the Trojans' top scorer, finishing second at nine-under par.
The top five teams after 54 holes from the six 17-team NCAA Regionals—and the top individual (not on an advancing team)—will advance to Omni La Costa.
Junior Catherine Park and freshman Jasmine Koo lead USC. Both players are ranked within the top 20, as Koo is the No. 7 and Park is the No. 20 player. Combined, the pairing has five wins and 15 top-ten finishes in tournaments this season. Park recently finished tied for fifth at the Trojans' first-ever Big Ten Conference Tournament. Koo is one round in the 60s away from holding sole possession of the program record for rounds in the 60s for a single season, as she is tied with Amari Avery at 11 (2023). Joining them in the lineup will be freshman Kylie Chong, sophomore Bailey Shoemaker and senior Xin (Cindy) Kou.
USC is one of three Big Ten schools to receive a No. 2 seed or higher (No. 1 seed Oregon; Gold Canyon Regional, No. 2 seed Northwestern; Norman Regional) and is one of eight Big Ten schools. Those schools include: Oregon, Northwestern, Michigan State, Ohio State, Illinois, UCLA and Purdue.
