April 10, 2025 | Women's Tennis
Trojans to face Nebraska and Iowa.
LOS ANGELES – No. 16 USC women's tennis hits the road for the last time in the regular season this weekend as they head across the country to face off against Nebraska and Iowa.
The Women of Troy (11-5, 5-3 in conference play) are coming off a strong home performance last weekend when they picked up wins against Minnesota and No. 19 Wisconsin. Now, with just two weeks left in the regular season, USC is pushing full steam ahead, trying to improve on their current sixth place standing in the Big Ten Conference.
They will face their first test of the weekend against the Huskers (12-8, 2-7 in conference play) in Lincoln. Nebraska has struggled in the second half of the season, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. The Huskers currently sit in the bottom five of the Big Ten conference and do not have any ranked players.
The Women of Troy will then continue onto Iowa, where they will face the Hawkeyes (12-6, 6-3 in conference play). Iowa currently sits just one place ahead of USC in the Big Ten, with each match having crucial postseason implications. The Hawkeyes have one ranked singles player in No. 113 Tereza Dejnozkova and one ranked doubles team.
For the Women of Troy, they will count on their veteran players to continue to provide clutch wins down the stretch. No. 62 senior Grace Piper leads the way for the team, followed by No. 66 junior Emma Charney and No. 103 sophomore Immi Haddad. Piper is also ranked No. 7 in doubles alongside sophomore Lily Fairclough.
The weekend's action will kick-off at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 11 in Lincoln, Nebraska. First serve against Iowa will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 13.
