
USC’s Kaalund Wins Men’s 200m At Battle On The Bayou

Whyte places second in women’s 200m race
Garrett Kaalund won the men's 200m and Madison Whyte placed second in the women's 200m during a light first day of action for the Trojans at the 2025 Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU at Bernie Moore Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. today (March 28).
- Junior transfer Garrett Kaalund won the men's 200m dash with a PR of 20.05 (+1.4). Kaalund's time is the current NCAA leader. Freshman Jazonte Levan place seventh with a time of 20.91 (+3.7w).
- Sophomore Madison Whyte placed second in the women's 200m dash with a PR of 22.52 (+1.7). That time moved her from tied for 11th to eighth on USC' all-time list and first on the NCAA descending order list. Led by Whyte, the Trojans had the top three collegiate times as junior Jassani Cater was third with a time of 22.77 (+1.7) and senior Samirah Moody was fourth with a time of 22.86 (+1.7).
- Junior transfer Jaren Holmes placed third in the men's long jump with a best jump of 24-8.50/7.53m (+2.2w), which he achieved twice.
- Freshman Falyn Lott placed sixth in the long jump with a best leap of 19-9.75/6.04m (+6.4w). Fellow freshman Avery Lewis placed eighth in the long jump with a best jump of 19-4.75/5.91m (+4.7w).
