No. 4 USC Beach Volleyball Falls to No. 3 TCU on Riviera Beach

The Trojans got wins at the top two position but were defeated by the Frogs
RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – The No. 4-ranked USC beach volleyball team (15-4) had its six-dual win streak stopped in a 3-2 loss to No. 3 TCU (12-3) on Tuesday, March 18. The Women of Troy also played an exhibition dual with Palm Beach State College and finished with a 4-1 result.

The Trojans fall to 27-3 in the state of Florida and to 34-6 when they play in the Eastern Time zone.Â

The Frogs won at the bottom three courts and the Trojans claimed points at the top two positions. USC's top pair of sophomore Zoey Henson and junior Madison White went three sets to defeat Spanish Olympians Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno, 21-17, 17-21, 15-10, to improve to 14-3 overall with a seven-match win streak. The win came last and posted the second Trojan point to the board.

USC scored the first point of the dual when freshman Kennedy Coakley and sophomore Ashley Pater collected a 21-16, 21-13 win over Maria Gonzalez and Hailey Hamlett. Coakley and Pater extended their win streak to nine matches and improved to 13-2 overall.

After Coakley-Pater won, TCU claimed its three wins with victories at the three, four, and five positions in consecutive order to clinch the dual. The Trojans fall to 10-2 against the Frogs and have a five-dual win streak over TCU snapped.

The Women of Troy will play their next duals in the Death Volley Invitational hosted by LSU at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. USC takes on the host Tigers and Florida State on Friday (March 28) and then will face TCU and Texas on Saturday (March 29).
