The Women of Troy took down Concordia and Pepperdine in back-to-back matches to push to 28 straight home victories
LOS ANGELES – The No. 3-ranked USC beach volleyball team (6-2) swept Concordia (3-2) and Pepperdine (1-4) in back-to-back 5-0 wins in the Battle for Los Angeles at Merle Norman Stadium on Friday, March 28. The Trojans moved to 13-1 in home openers and extended their record home win streak to 28 duals dating back to 2021. USC is now 93-11 all-time at Merle Norman Stadium.
The Trojans improve to 6-0 all-time against the Golden Eagles and have never dropped an individual match in any of their six duals with Concordia. The nine-match win streak is the longest by either team in the 34-match history of the series and the sweep marks only the second time USC has ever defeated the Waves by a 5-0 margin (Feb. 25, 2021).
Sophomore Zoey Henson and junior Madison White picked up back-to-back straight-set wins with a 21-17, 21-17 win over Concordia's Kelissa Lemoine and Sara Ostojic and a 21-11, 21-19 win against Pepperdine's Kate Clermont and McKenna Thomas. The win over the Golden Eagles clinched the first dual.

Coakley-Pater improved to 4-1 as a pair with the two wins.
USC's No. 3 duo of sophomore Madison Goellner and junior Mabyn Thomas defeated the Eagles' Olivia Medina and Eva Prewitt, 21-12, 21-15, for their first win. They needed three sets to get a second win over Pepperdine's Emma Eden and Ella Foti but delivered the fifth point of the sweep with a 22-20, 13-21, 15-6 win.
On four, junior Delaney Karl and sophomore Kaileigh Truslow went three sets to take down Concordia's Kelia Giusta and Gabrielle Reinking, 21-16, 20-22, 15-12; and went another three sets to get a 16-21, 21-9, 15-9 win over Pepperdine's Emma Bubelis and Marley Johnson to improve to 7-1 on the season with six straight wins.
At pair five, USC's pair of freshman Calinda Kok and graduate Ella Larkin produced a 21-17, 21-12 win over Concordia's Samantha Campion and Lexi Godbey in the first dual. In the second dual, the tandem defeated Emi Erickson and Deanie Woodruff, 21-13, 21-13, to notch the clinching point over the Waves.
In exhibition action, sophomores Jess Horwath and Kaylee Young fell to CUI's Nicole Miller and Jordan Vander Veen, 21-18, 21-16. Against the Waves, sophomore Grace Hong and freshman Calla Tufto took town Bella Avelar and Kenzi McSpadden, 21-18, 21-9.
The Trojans are back in action for two more duals as part of the Battle for Los Angeles on Saturday (March 1). USC takes on No. 16 Washington at 10 a.m. PT and then meets No. 8 Long Beach State at noon. The Women of Troy will celebrate its graduating student-athletes at the conclusion of the dual with the 49ers. Washington-LBSU will play a neutral-site dual at 2 p.m. All three duals will be shown live on Big Ten Plus streams.
