Maile Hayes Inks Pro Contract with Torreense SCU in Portugal

LOS ANGELES – After leading the USC soccer team to a Big Ten Championship with a prolific senior season, Maile Hayes signed her first professional contract with Torreense SCU in Portugal this past week.
Hayes transferred to USC from Texas A&M prior to the 2024 season and proceeded to lead the Trojans in scoring en route to a conference championship and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
In 23 matches in the Cardinal and Gold, Hayes scored 11 goals and tallied five assists for a total of 27 points on the season. Starting all but one match at striker, Hayes earned All-Big Ten first team and All-North Region first team recognition.
Her stellar senior season came on the heels of leading Texas A&M in goals in both 2021 and 2022, earning All-SEC and All-Region honors there as well.
Hayes played a key role in numerous crucial moments for USC during the 2024 campaign, scoring the game-winning goal in the Big Ten title clinching match against UCLA and recording eight total points in the NCAA Tournament. Five of her 11 goals on the season were game-winners. Her 11 goals were fourth in the Big Ten and five game-winners were fifth in the conference and 17th in the NCAA.
Torreense SCU competes in the Portuguese first division and is located in the city of Torres Vedras.
