LOS ANGELES – The ANNIKA Foundation has announced the final ANNIKA Award Watch List for the fall today, Nov. 11. USC Women's Golf has two athletes on the list in Jasmine Koo and Catherine Park.
Koo finished the fall season ranked ninth in the NCAA Division I Individual Rankings. She also grabbed the fifth win of her career at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, which moved her into second in the USC record book for career wins. Along with the win, Koo didn't finish below 15th place in any tournament this fall, earning a stroke average of 69.9 in those tournaments. Of the nine 18-hole rounds the team competed in, Koo kept her score in the 60s six times.
Park is currently 14th in the NCAA Division I Individual Rankings following the fall slate. She had the lowest round of the season for the Trojans, earning a 64 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic. Her best finish this fall came at the Stanford Intercollegiate, where she ended the tournament tied for second. Along the way, she has maintained a 70.3 stroke average and hasn't finished below 16th place in any tournament this fall. With her four rounds in the 60s, Park officially moved to the top of the USC record book for the most career rounds in the 60s.
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top female Division I collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the golf media. Named for and presented by Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Commission to acknowledge the top female golfer at the end of the season, to match the Haskins Award presented by Stifel which acknowledges the top male Division I collegiate golfer.
The Women of Troy will return to action on Jan. 23 to compete in the Battle of LA against UCLA.
