Knodel Earns Top-30 Finish in USC Cross Country Debut at Highlander Invitational

Jacqueline Duarte ran a 15-second personal best in the 6K

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The USC cross country team returned to the Ag Ops Course at UC Riverside for the Highlander Invitational Women's 6K on Saturday, placing 18th as a team.

Sydney Knodel showed out in her Trojan debut, leading all Trojans at 26th place. The senior walk-on ran a time of 21:10.6 in her first collegiate 6K.

Jacqueline Duarte earned a top-50 spot with her personal-best performance of 21:36.5. Duarte improved 15 seconds on her time of 21:51.3 from the same course last month.

Haley Spoden was next in for the Women of Troy with a time of 22:28.8 and 111th place. Isabella Duarte came through next with a time of 23:19.3.

The day finished with a season-debut for senior Lucia Rabolli, who raced a time of 24:45.4, and Paige Unger who returned to the Ag Ops Course with a time of 26:15.0.

The Trojans will be back in action at the John Elders Titan Invite for the last meet of the regular season on October 24. The women's 5K is set for 5 p.m. at the Cal State Fullerton Campus Course with live results available here.
