
No. 2 USC Women's Golf Jumps Up Two Spots At Stanford Intercollegiate

Catherine Park led the Women of Troy after going five under par in the second round.
STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 USC Women's Golf moved up three spots in the standings following the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate. The Women of Troy are currently tied for seventh after the team went seven under par today and are sitting at four under par for the tournament.
Catherine Park made the biggest impact for USC. She jumped up to third place on the individual leaderboard following her second-round performance. She started the day with a birdie before hitting par on the next five holes. She rounded out the first portion of the day with an eagle and a double bogey, causing her to sit at one under heading into the back nine. Park went on to register four birdies while going even on the other five holes, allowing her to end the day five under par.
Along with Park, Elise Lee and Sarah Hammett had strong performances in the second round. Lee began with three birdies in the first nine holes to go along with a bogey, causing her to sit at two under heading into the back nine. Lee contributed one more birdie on hole 13 and two bogeys on holes 10 and 18. This resulted in her going one under for the day and sitting at par for the tournament.
Hammett kicked off the day with birdies on the third and seventh holes while hitting par on the remaining seven, allowing her to be two under heading into hole 10. With three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey in the back nine, Hammett finished the day going one under par while sitting at six over for the tournament.
Kylie Chong's score also counted for USC as she rebounded in round two. She remained steady through most of the front nine except for a bogey on hole six. However, she recovered in the back half, grabbing birdies on the 15th and 16th holes. She ended the 18th hole with a bogey, which caused her to go even in round two.
The Women of Troy will compete in the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate tomorrow, Oct. 19, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Fans can follow all the action at scoreboard.clippd.com.
