January 07, 2025 | Women's Tennis
Trojans set to compete against Hawaii and Texas A&M beginning Wednesday.
LOS ANGELES – The No. 17 USC women's tennis team, led by eighth-year head coach Alison Swain, kicks off 2025 at the upcoming three-day Weinman Foundation Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii. The University of Hawaii will serve as host to USC and the defending NCAA Champions and No. 2 ranked Texas A&M Aggies.Â
Â
The event runs Wednesday, Jan. 8 through Saturday, Jan. 11 at the UH Tennis Complex. Competition begins at 12 p.m. PT each day (10 a.m. HT). Â
Â
USC wrapped up fall competition in late November, as Grace Piper and Lily Fairclough competed at the first-annual 2024 Fall NCAA Individual Championships. As a duo, Piper and Fairclough reached the round of 16, while Piper advanced to the second round in singles play.Â
Â
The Hawaii Invite is USC's final individual/tournament style event of the season, as the Women of Troy will compete in duals for the remainder of the spring.
Â
Just yesterday, Piper was named to the Big Ten Conference's 2025 Women's Tennis Players to Watch List. Piper enters this week as the No. 37 ranked singles player in the country. Trojan Emma Charney is ranked No. 45 and Immi Haddad is ranked at No. 57 entering spring play. In doubles, Piper and Fairclough are ranked No. 7 after their strong fall showing.Â
