USC Cross Country To Compete At Dave Murray Invitational Saturday

The USC women's cross country team under the direction of its first-year coach Milton Mallard will compete for the second time this season when it travels to the Dave Murray Invitational held at the Tucson Country Club in Tucson, Ariz. on Saturday (Sept. 28). The 6K meet is scheduled to start at 7:35 a.m.

The USC athletes traveling to Arizona and scheduled to compete are redshirt junior Jacqueline Duarte, senior Giovanna Pisano, sophomore Haley Spoden, graduate transfer Helena Teixeira-Dasilva and sophomore Angelina Vasquez. The traveling roster is limited as several Trojans had to be scratched from the trip due to illness.

The Trojans are traveling to Arizona for the first time since the 2016 Pac-12 Championships which were hosted by the Wildcats at Randolph North Golf Course.

The Trojans opened the season by placing third at the Pepperdine Waves Invitational (4K) on Aug. 30, led by Gigi Maccagnini who placed seventh individually.

After this weekend's meet, the Trojans will be training until competing at the Highlander Invitational (6K) in Riverside on Oct. 19.
