June 19, 2024 | Track & Field
26 Trojans competing to represent USA at Paris Olympics
The USC Track & Field program will be well represented at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials to be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. from June 21-30. There will be 11 members from the 2024 USC outdoor track and field team competing, as well as another 15 previously graduated Trojans.
To qualify to represent USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France from, from July 26-Aug. 11, an athlete has to meet the qualifying standard and finish in the top three of an event. Â
USC has 11 athletes from the current team competing at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials, which includes Di'Niko Bates (M-110m H), Johnnie Blockburger (M-400m), Johnny Brackins Jr. (M-LJ), Jassani Carter (W-100m, 200m), Jan'Taijah Jones (W-400m), Jasmine Jones (W-400m H), William Jones (M-400m), Jalaysiya Smith (W-100m H), JC Stevenson (M-LJ), Max Thomas (M-100m, 200m) and Madison Whyte (W-200m, W-400m).
As one of America's premier track and field programs you would expect USC to have number of alumni competing, and as always, the graduated Trojans will be well represented, too. Among the 15 former USC athletes taking part at the USATF Championships are Nia Ali (W-100m H), Celera Barnes (W-100m), Rai Benjamin (M-400m H), Caisja Chandler (W-100m, 200m), Anna Cockrell (W-400m H), Kendall Ellis (W-400m), Isaiah Jewett (M-800m), Allie Jones (W-Heptathlon), Bailey Lear (W-400m), Dalilah Muhammad (W-400m H), Michael Norman (M-400m), Bobby Poynter (M-800m), Madisen Richards (W-LJ), Earnest Sears III (M-HJ) and TeeTee Terry (W-100m, 200m).
