USC Rowing Travels to Lake Natoma for Pac-12 Championships

LOS ANGELES – The USC women's rowing team travels to Sacramento, Calif., to race in the 2024 Pac-12 Championship on May 19 on the waters of Lake Natoma. The Trojans will enter boats in four categories: the Varsity Four, the Third Varsity Eight, the Second Varsity Eight, and the Varsity Eight.Â

In the 2023 Pac-12 Championship, USC came home with two fourth-place finishes, one fifth-place finish, and a seventh-place finish. The Varsity Eight and the Varsity Four finished fourth, the Second Varsity Eight finished fifth, the Third Varsity Eight finished seventh, and the team placed fourth overall. Â

The Trojans will race against Pac-12 Boats from Oregon State, Stanford, Cal, UCLA, Washington, and Washington State. The Third Varsity Eight will begin the day for USC at 9:32 a.m. PT, followed by the Varsity Four at 10:02 a.m. PT, the Second Varsity Eight will race at 10:22 a.m. PT, the Varsity Eight at 10:42 a.m. PT, and to close out the championship, the awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m. PT.Â

Points are awarded to each boat based on category and finish to calculate the overall place of the teams. The point system breakdown is listed below.Â

In 2022-23, USC made its second of back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships and finished 16th with 42 points. The Women of Troy claimed a fourth-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships and had junior Zoe McCutcheon named to the All-Conference Team. The Trojans swept crosstown rival UCLA in the annual rivalry dual to open the spring and improved to 20-1 all-time in head-to-head meetings with the Bruins. USC was ranked for much of the season in the Pocock CRCA Poll.
