USC’s Artem Selin Reaches Championship Final During Second Day of Competition At Pac-12 Swimming Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.  –  USC junior Artem Selin's A-final appearance in the 50y freestyle highlighted Troy's second evening of action at the 2024 Pac-12 Swimming Championships.

Through two days of competition, USC currently sits in fifth place with 221 points. ASU currently leads the way with 401 points.

Troy's Krzysztof Chmielewski earned a second swim in the 500y freestyle, finishing runner-up in the consolation final in 4:14.00. His time would've been third in the A-final. During prelims, Chmielewski clocked a 4:16.98, just missing the A-final (ninth in prelims).

Also earning a second swim in the 500y freestyle was freshman Salvador Goya, who finished eighth in the C-final in 4:26.35. During prelims he clocked a 4:25.88.

In the consolation final of the 200y IM, freshman Sanberk Oktar finished second in 1:43.63 (1:44.85 prelims). Senior Harry Homans also appeared in the B-final, clocking a 1:45.72 to finish seventh. Ryan Abdollahi swam in the bonus final, finishing seventh in 1:50.24.

Troy's lone A-final appearance of the day came from Trojan junior Artem Selin, who finished sixth in 19.41. During prelims, Selin clocked the third fastest time (19.17) to punch hi ticket into the championship final.

USC wrapped up the second evening of action with a fifth place finish in the 200y freestyle relay as Selin, Mateo Parker, Danny Syrkin and Vaggelis Makyrgiannis combined to post a 1:18.11.
